The English language remake of Russia's Queen of Spades will wrap principal photography in May.
Production is underway in Ottawa on Patrick White’s horror remake Queen of Spades, Playback has exclusively learned.
Produced by Brendan McNeill of Engine 5 Films, the film is an adaptation of the Russian film of the same name, which was the highestgrossing Russianlanguage horror film of all time. It follows four teenagers who summon the Queen of Spades through an ancient ritual. Distribution company LevelFILM was the North American distributor for the film and owns the Englishlanguage remake rights.
The film is privately financed. Principal photography is set to wrap in May. Queen of Spades is directed by White, written by John Ainslie and stars Ava Preston (Odd Squad), Kaelen Ohm (Condor, Murdoch Mysteries) and Daniel Kash (Bad Blood).
